Qaurtz and audio
Quartz has the ablity to convert vibration to heat, so any vibrations introduced by a device on top of it will not be transferred to the audio rack. Great? Curious about this a while ago a friend came along with cotton bags filled with quartz. These are very handy: Just put them under the amplifier, three or four, and you're ready to go.

Under boards.
Acoustic Revive promotes these as under boards: A quartz filled wooden frame with on top wood as well (underlayment in this case). Equipment has to be placed on top, toplayer of wood has to have some spacing from the wooden frame. These are made by Musical Affairs on a saturday morning (so he said). Aesthetically more than pleasing (imho).

Equipment placed on top of the under board.

What is the effect?
The result is immediately audible: It takes away some sibilance from the highs and that has a positive effect on imaging and bass. Music becomes more easy to listen to but without loss of detail or speed. As it seems there is no applied maximum, in my situation all the equipment has been placed on either under boards or the cotton bogs without going over the top.

Cotton bags and under board.

Both recommended! ..however the cotton bags are more practical, especially when lots of equipment swapping is done.
