A few weeks ago I had an interesting conversation with Rachel from Grant Fidelity as I saw replica meshplate 50's being advertised on their site. Interesting! Having owned globe, ST, Philips and EML 50's now finally a chance to hear a 50 with meshplate? These are nowadays obscure and rare with dito prices.. Rachel sent me a pair and a week ago I finished the amplifier to accomodate them. 


It has a Telefunken AD101 interstage coupled driver which is server by an input transformer with a 1:6 ratio. Powersupply is in a separate chassis and also being used for the Telefunken RV218 amplifier.
The meshplates look really nice, especially at night. Sound? Well, everything is yet new, so burning in at the moment, but already very promising! In a few weeks I will post an article about this.
